TOY PROJECT 2020

Once again, the CKNB is proud to partner with WMU and Network churches to provide toys to families in need this Christmas Season. 2020 has been a very abnormal year, and we have a great opportunity to bless those feeling the weight of a tough year.

WHAT IS THE TOY PROJECT?

The Toy Project is a compassion ministry of the Central Kentucky Network of Baptists which embraces our Network’s vision of cooperative missions to provide toys and other items to families in need within our Network communities. Churches in our Network hold new toy collection drives to supply items for 7 “Toy Stores” held in December where families in need are welcome to shop for items at a 90% discount off normal retail price.

HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE?

Help With Toy Collection

If your church would like to participate, have your congregation have a collection drive for NEW toys for boys and girls ages newborn-18 years of age. The best time for this collection drive is the month of NOVEMBER. After the collection drive, deliver or schedule pickup from one of the 7 churches participating as “TOY STORES” in our Network. The 7 Toy Store sites are…

  • Central Baptist Church | Paris, KY
  • Edgewood Baptist Church | Nicholasville, KY
  • Georgetown Baptist Church | Georgetown, KY
  • Grace Baptist Church | Lexington, KY
  • Penn Memorial Baptist Church | Stamping Ground, KY
  • Shiloh Baptist Church | Lexington, KY

Help with Toy Stores

Toy Store Dates are scheduled throughout December depending on the dates each Toy Store Site Church has selected. These churches often need help with setting up the store days before the actual date, organizing toys and setting up wrapping stations.

The date of the store, volunteers are needed to help participants shop, carry items to automobiles, and offer gift wapping. Volunteers are also needed to help provide spiritual help, prayer, and guidance for those participating in shopping.

2020 CHANGES DUE TO COVID

This year’s Toy Stores are going to be a bit different in how they distribute items and set up their stores. For information on how each store is operating, please contact the individual store coordinator listed in the graphic above.
