Safe Harbor Baptist Church in Georgetown is once again offering a robust Pastoral Internship Program, open to those called to serve as future pastors, missionaries, and church leaders. This 20-week internship provides hands-on ministry experience and spiritual growth, aiming to glorify God through service in a healthy, thriving local church.
Program Highlights and Structure
The Safe Harbor internship includes guided reading, reflective writing, weekly mentorship meetings, and practical service within the local church. Interns gain not only valuable insights into pastoral and church leadership but also experience the daily functions and responsibilities of ministry in action.
In a collaborative spirit, Safe Harbor Baptist Church has partnered with the Central Kentucky Network of Baptists (CKNB) to allow interns to complete specific portions of their internship within their own home churches. This partnership enables participants to satisfy their learning requirements at Safe Harbor while serving in their local congregations, fostering stronger community bonds and real-world ministry practice.
Academic Credit and Funding Opportunities
For those pursuing theological education, this internship offers a unique benefit: the potential to earn six credit hours through a coordinated arrangement with the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
While the intern’s home church is primarily responsible for funding the internship, supplemental scholarships or funding options are available in partnership with the CKNB, helping make this opportunity accessible for all.
