This past Tuesday, March 4th, Southern Heights Baptist Church in Lexington played host to the latest CKNB Equip Leadership Lunch, and it was a powerful time of connection and equipping for pastors and church leaders. The focus of the day was crucial: purity, accountability, and internet safety in ministry.
Our special guest, Alex from Accountable2You, brought invaluable insights and resources to the table. For those unfamiliar, Accountable2You is a software and service designed to foster transparency and accountability in internet usage. In today's digital age, where temptations are just a click away, tools like Accountable2You are more vital than ever.
What is Accountable2You?
Essentially, Accountable2You acts as a digital accountability partner. It monitors internet and app activity across various devices (computers, smartphones, tablets) and shares reports with designated accountability partners. This isn't about invasive spying, but about creating a system of support and encouragement that promotes healthy online habits.
Here's a breakdown of key features:
Cross-Platform Monitoring: It works across various operating systems and devices, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
Real-Time Reporting: Accountability partners receive timely reports of internet and app activity, including websites visited and apps used.
Customizable Settings: Users can tailor the monitoring to their specific needs and preferences.
Focus on Transparency: The emphasis is on open communication and building trust through shared accountability.
Promoting Purity: By creating a system of accountability, Accountable2You helps individuals resist temptations and maintain purity in their online lives.
Alex's presentation highlighted the importance of proactively addressing the challenges of online temptation, especially within ministry leadership. He emphasized that accountability isn't about shame or punishment, but about creating a safe environment for growth and spiritual health.
