Parkway Baptist Church of Lexington, Kentucky is seeking a part-time Minister of Music to serve our congregation. This position is primarily responsible to plan, implement, and oversee the Music Ministries of Parkway Baptist Church.
Qualified candidates will exhibit evidence of a mature and growing faith in Jesus Christ and a life of personal integrity, according to the principles of faith set forth in the Bible and the Baptist Faith and Message, and a desire to help people learn what it means to follow Christ in all areas of life.
Duties will include: Oversee and direct all music, vocal and instrumental, related to the regular, special and seasonal worship services. Plan all adult choir rehearsals and performances. Schedule special music (as available) for morning worship services. Plan, schedule and develop special services to include seasonal performances (Extra rehearsals and performances for special services shall be considered normal job responsibilities). Select and order musical selections and related materials as needed. Be supportive of the church wide programs endorsed by the church council. Be responsible for locking building and turning off equipment and lights after practices.
Qualified candidates will likewise exhibit strong musical knowledge and conducting skills along with proficiency, experience, and excellence in providing comprehensive leadership to a music ministry. Also a working knowledge of (or willingness to be trained in) the necessary sound and media technology skills, including setup, use and maintenance of a professional audio and video streaming system.
