Irishtown Renovation Update & Request

Update & Request

Busy Summer at Irishtown…

Hopefully you are aware that our Irishtown property is undergoing major renovations at this present time.  To date the property has had:

  • The entire roof system torn off and replaced
  • Interior completely gutted
  • Interior walls reconfigured and framed
  • Windows replace
  • Electrical installed & updated
  • Plumbing installed & updated
  • Exterior Siding removed.
  • HVAC system updated.

Hopefully next week, 7/11/22 we will have the plumbing and electrical inspections complete and will begin insulating the walls in preparation for drywall.

Here is where we need your help…

We are tentatively looking for volunteers for the week of 7/18 to help hang dry wall (this is assuming all inspection go well and insulation is complete.)  If you would bring this to your church’s attention this Sunday 7/10 and next Sunday 7/17, we would be grateful.

If you have volunteers who would be interested in helping day or night, please put them in contact with David Barron at or by phone 502-542-7134 (Text message is OK)

We currently have volunteers at the site (245 Perry St. Lexington Ky, 40508) daily from approximately 9am-5pm Monday-Friday.  However, drywall week we can have people there 9am – 9pm if necessary, as some may want to volunteer after they get off work.

If you plan on coming to help hand drywall the following tools would be helpful

  • Cordless Drill/Impact (Corded drills will work too)
  • Razor knife
  • Dry wall saw
  • Zip Saw
  • Drywall “T” Square
  • Tape Measure
  • Chalk line

While there are a few of these on site, if you have your own it would help speed up the process.

A drywall lift is needed to help hang the celling if you have one or if you would like to contribute to the rental fee, please contact David Barron (see contact information above.)

Financial Contributions Also Welcomed…

If you cannot support the project through a gift of time and labor but would like to support the project financially, you can always give a gift to the network and reference Irishtown renovation.

Thank you for your help.  This would not be possible with the generosity of our churches both in their time and financial resources.
