COVID-19: President Calls for Sunday, March 15, 2020 to be A National Day of Prayer

In a press conference on Friday, March 13, 2020, President Donald Trump declared this Sunday, March 15, to be a national day of prayer as a response to the current COVID-19 (Coronavirus) global pandemic.

The President’s declaration comes just days after Southern Baptist Convention President, Dr. JD Greear, released a declaration inviting the 47,000+ SBC churches to unite in prayer together on the same day.

In times of crisis and uncertainty, our nation has historically turned to prayer to seek mercy, grace, peace and strength from our benevolent Heavenly Father. As believers, we are a people not driven by fear, but power, love and a sound mind.

The Central Kentucky Network of Baptists joins with President Trump, Dr. Greear and other leaders urging our network churches to join together this Sunday, whether meeting corporately or digitally, in prayer for our nation and world as we all navigate these strange and uncertain times together.

We invite you to refer to the document below which was released by the office of the SBC President earlier this week as a guide to unified prayer.
